What’s wrong with the healthcare system in the U.S.? It’s hard to know where to even begin to answer that question, but Dr. Edward F. Group, the founder and CEO of Global Healing, recently spoke about the problems we’re facing in a video posted on YouTube.
He said that many integrative doctors he’s talked to agree that the media is full of misinformation and that health freedom is in danger. Although he said his videos are normally more focused on health, he decided it was time to get a little political and share what he knows about the root causes of disease and how people can keep their immunity up and prevent and fight illness.
How did we get it so wrong in America? Right now, Americans spend more than $1.5 trillion on healthcare each year. Patient satisfaction has dropped to new lows while death rates from mental disorders and drugs have been skyrocketing. Nearly 70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription per day, and half take more than two. America is one of the worst countries in the world when it comes to disease management, he pointed out, and medical errors are the third leading cause of death.
He believes that if people would do their own research rather than just accepting what the media says, it would go a long way toward improving public health. As Natural News has been saying for many years, the current American healthcare system simply isn’t concerned with wellness and prevention; instead, the focus is on treating symptoms of disease – and only with drugs or surgery.
People need to understand why they get diseases in the first place. One big issue he identified will be pretty familiar to most Natural News readers: toxic food and drinks. Between the chemicals, dyes, refined sugars, preservatives and antibiotics in our food, it’s no wonder that so many of us are ill.
Toxic chemicals in our environment also need to be addressed, especially endocrine disruptors, glyphosate, pesticides, phthalates, and fire retardants that are damaging our planet and our bodies.
We need to eliminate toxic water, he says, by putting scientists in charge of cleaning up the water supply and getting rid of fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, and prescription drug residues. It’s also time to put an end to fracking.
Toxic air is another problem, with respiratory disease now considered the third top cause of death. He also called for a move toward organic agriculture, repairing soil and educating farmers.
Of course, the list of toxins in our environment doesn’t stop there. We also need to learn more about the dangers of 5G and protect people from them, and have independent scientists looking into smart meters, smartphones and other technology.
Vaccines also deserve more scrutiny. We need to take a closer look at their risks and publish more research about it. He says that vaccine education and giving people the ability to choose is essential.
And it’s important to start with children, who need to be educated and protected. Our schools are indoctrinating them, and many are being put on psych drugs to keep them complacent when what they really need is to learn meditation and other natural techniques to manage their emotions.
Dr. Group also talks about the importance of having freedom of choice in healthcare. He’d like to see insurance covering approaches like massage therapy, chiropractors, and acupuncture, and allowing people to choose whether or not to get a vaccine or decide between chemotherapy and natural cancer treatments.
There’s a lot wrong with the current state of healthcare in America, but that also means that there are many ways we can start turning things around. However, educating people and encouraging them to look at the facts is one of the best steps we can take.
